American Standard Delancey 16 x 18-Inch Single Bowl Cast Iron Kitchen Sink Grid - AMS-8422000

It is built to avoid that. The grid is polished stainless steel with plastic feet on the bottom and plastic side bumpers, so the stainless never rides directly against the porcelain enamel surface of the cast iron bowl.

Nominal size is 12-13/16 x 10-5/8 x 1 inches (325 x 270 x 26 mm). Note the difference between that and the 16 x 18 inch sink it goes in, the grid is intentionally smaller than the bowl opening so it sits down on the basin floor rather than wedging at the rim.

On cast iron it does real work. The bowl is porcelain enamel over iron, and dropped cast pans or cutlery chip that surface. The Delancey grid lifts dishes about an inch off the basin floor on plastic feet, keeps pots off the enamel, and lets water drain under the stack instead of pooling. For a property manager fitting out multiple kitchens, it is the cheapest way to protect the finish on a sink that is expensive to replace.

One finish only: polished stainless steel, ordered under MPN 8422000.075. The feet and bumpers are a coordinating plastic rather than metal.

No install work. It drops into the bowl and rests on its own plastic feet, with side bumpers holding it off the basin walls. Nothing fastens to the sink, so it lifts straight out for cleaning or to clear the drain.
