American Standard M970270-0020A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the American Standard M970270 handle kit mount on the right side of the tank?
Right hand only. It is sold as a right side handle kit, so it suits tanks prepped with the lever hole on the right face. A tank with the hole on the left needs the left hand version instead.
2) What finish does the American Standard M970270 toilet handle come in?
Chrome, ordered as part number M970270-0020A. If the rest of the trim in the washroom is polished chrome, this matches; for brushed nickel or bronze trim you would need a different American Standard lever.
3) Do I get the whole lever assembly or just the handle for an American Standard toilet repair?
It ships as a kit, so the handle and its mounting hardware come together. The flapper, flush valve and chain are separate parts and are not part of this kit.
4) For standardizing toilet repair parts across a building, is one handle kit enough for every American Standard tank?
No. Trip levers are handed, and this one is the right side kit. Walk the building and count how many tanks are prepped on the right versus the left, then stock both. Finish matters too, since this kit is chrome.
