American Standard 012167-0020A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the American Standard 012167-0020A skirt adapter actually used for?
It's a faucet repair part, not a complete handle. The long handle skirt adapter is the sleeve piece that adapts a long faucet handle to the skirt, and American Standard sells it as a service part under model number 012167-0020A. If a handle on an American Standard faucet is loose or the skirt won't seat, this is the adapter piece in that assembly.
2) Do I get the faucet handle itself with this adapter, or just the adapter?
Just the adapter. It's a single repair part, sold as one chrome piece under 012167-0020A. Handles, screws, index buttons and cartridges are separate American Standard service parts and have to be ordered on their own.
3) Is this the long version or the short version of the American Standard handle skirt adapter?
This is the long one. American Standard catalogs skirt adapters by handle length, so ordering by the 012167-0020A number is the way to be sure you get the long adapter rather than a shorter variant. Pull the existing part and compare length before you order if your faucet model is unknown.
4) How big is the American Standard 12167 skirt adapter, and will it fit a shallow vanity?
Published dimensions are 10.433 x 4.1 x 1 inches and it weighs 0.115 lb. Those are the packaged part figures American Standard lists; the adapter itself is a slim sleeve, which is why one of the three numbers is a single inch.
5) Can a property manager stock this for both residential and commercial faucet repairs?
American Standard classifies it simply as a repair part rather than splitting it between residential and commercial lines, so it applies wherever the matching American Standard faucet is installed. For multi-unit stock, order by 012167-0020A so every truck carries the same chrome adapter.
