American Standard 3043660.02 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the American Standard Madera 3043660 toilet system come with a tank, or does it need a flushometer supply?
No tank. The Madera 3043660 is a floor mount flushometer bowl paired with a touchless Selectronic piston flush valve, so it has to be fed by a flushometer-style supply with the pressure and pipe size a flush valve needs. If your rough-in is a tank-type angle stop, this is the wrong fixture for that opening.
2) Is the Madera 3043660 toilet ADA chair height?
The bowl sits at a 16-1/2 inch (419 mm) rim height, which American Standard describes as an accessible application height. Measured seat height will be slightly higher once a seat is added, since the bowl ships less seat.
3) Does a seat come with the American Standard Madera 3043660?
No. It is supplied less seat, so an elongated commercial seat has to be ordered separately. Spec an open front elongated seat if the restroom is a public or commercial facility.
4) Is the flush valve a top spud connection on this Madera toilet?
Yes, top spud. The bowl is an elongated floor mount flushometer bowl with a top spud inlet, so the exposed flush valve drops straight down to the bowl. A back spud bowl will not accept this arrangement.
5) Will the touchless flush still work if the battery dies or power drops?
Yes. The Selectronic piston valve has a fully mechanical manual override that operates without power, and the valve runs on an 8-year CR-P2 lithium battery installed at the factory. No hardwiring or transformer to coordinate with the electrician.
6) How much water does the Madera touchless toilet system use per flush, and how well does it clear waste?
1.6 gpf / 6.0 Lpf, with a maximum 1,000 gram MaP score, which is the top of the MaP scale for waste removal. That combination is what schools, healthcare and high-traffic public restrooms usually want on a flushometer fixture.
7) What stops these touchless flush valves from running on constantly?
The valve uses American Standard's DynaClean self-cleaning wiper spring. An integral wiper spring wipes the refill orifice on every flush, which is the orifice that clogs and causes valve run-on in hard or dirty water. That is a maintenance point worth knowing if you manage a building with a history of stuck flushometers.
8) What color does the Madera 3043660 toilet system come in?
White only, ordered as part number 3043660.02. If you are standardizing a facility on one fixture, that is the single finish to spec.
