American Standard 7500145.002 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the American Standard Monterrey 7500145 gooseneck faucet fit a 4-inch centerset sink deck?
Yes. The Monterrey 7500145 is built as a 4-inch centerset faucet, so it mounts on a deck or sink with three holes drilled on 4-inch centers. It will not work on an 8-inch widespread layout or a single-hole deck without an adapter plate.
2) What supply connections does the Monterrey centerset gooseneck faucet use?
It comes with 1/2 inch (13 mm) male threaded inlet shanks and brass coupling nuts, so it ties into standard 1/2 inch supply risers or flexible connectors. No separate adapters are needed for a typical lavatory rough-in.
3) Can the gooseneck spout on the American Standard Monterrey faucet swivel, or is it fixed?
Both. The spout is field-convertible between rigid and swivel, so the same faucet can be set up to pivot over a double-bowl or wide lavatory, or locked rigid where you do not want users swinging it. Spout reach is 5 inches (127 mm).
4) Is 0.5 gpm enough flow for a public restroom hand-wash lavatory?
The Monterrey gooseneck runs 0.5 gpm / 1.9 Lpm through a pressure-compensating vandal-resistant multi-laminar spray. That is a hand-washing flow rate, tuned for water conservation in commercial washrooms, and the pressure-compensating outlet holds that rate as building pressure varies. It is not intended for filling buckets or mop sinks.
5) Will the 5-inch spout reach clear the front of my lavatory bowl?
Reach is 5 inches (127 mm) from the spout base to the outlet. On a standard commercial lavatory that lands water near the center of the bowl; on a deep or front-drain basin, measure from your mounting holes to the bowl center before ordering.
6) Are the handles on this Monterrey faucet suitable for a high-traffic or vandal-prone restroom?
The lever handles are vandal-resistant and carry red and blue hot/cold indicators, and the valves are washerless ceramic discs, which is the cartridge type that holds up to constant cycling without dripping. That combination is aimed at schools, institutional and public washrooms rather than residential baths.
7) Does this faucet drip after heavy use like the older washer-type valves?
The Monterrey gooseneck uses washerless ceramic disc valves rather than rubber washers, so there are no seats and washers to wear out and rebuild on a maintenance cycle. For an MRO crew replacing old compression-valve lavatory faucets, that is the main service difference.
