American Standard 7545170.002 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the American Standard Monterrey 7545170 faucet fit a sink with 4-inch centerset holes?
Yes. The Monterrey gooseneck is a 4-inch centerset faucet, so it mounts on a deck or sink drilled with three holes on 4-inch centers. It will not work on an 8-inch widespread deck or a single-hole sink without an adapter deck plate.
2) How far does the gooseneck spout on the Monterrey 7545170 reach, and how far does it swing?
The gooseneck spout reaches 5 inches (127 mm) from the body, and the swivel is limited to 140 degrees so the spout cannot be swung back behind the sink and drip on the counter or wall. That restricted sweep is why it gets specified in commercial restrooms and exam rooms where water behind the fixture is a maintenance problem.
3) What are the supply connections on this American Standard wrist blade faucet, and do I need extra fittings?
It comes with 1/2 inch (13 mm) male threaded inlet shanks and brass coupling nuts, so it lands on standard 1/2 inch supply risers or stops. You still supply the riser tubes, stops, and the drain assembly; those are not part of the faucet.
4) Do wrist blade handles on the Monterrey faucet work for a healthcare or school hand-wash sink?
Wrist blades are the handle style specified where staff need to operate the faucet without gripping with their hands, which is why they turn up in clinics, labs, kitchens, and school washrooms. These are vandal-resistant wrist handles with red and blue index markers so hot and cold are obvious to anyone using the sink.
5) What is the flow rate on the American Standard 7545170, and will it hold flow on a building with variable pressure?
Flow is 1.5 gpm (5.7 Lpm) through a pressure-compensating aerator, so the output stays near that rate as building pressure swings rather than blasting at high pressure and trickling at low. That is the rate most water-conservation specs call for on a lavatory.
6) Are the valves in this faucet rebuildable washer types or ceramic?
Washerless ceramic disc cartridges. For a property manager standardizing across a building, that means no rubber washers to swap on a seasonal basis, and drips are handled by replacing the cartridge rather than reseating a valve.
7) What finish and part number do I order for the Monterrey centerset gooseneck?
It ships in chrome, ordered as American Standard part number 7545170.002. Chrome is the only finish offered on this model.
