American Standard 051212-0020A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the American Standard Monterrey escutcheon kit 051212-0020A used for?
It's the replacement escutcheon kit for American Standard Monterrey widespread sink faucets. The escutcheons are the trim plates that sit at the deck under the spout and handles and cover the mounting holes. It's a repair part, so it replaces damaged or pitted trim without changing out the whole faucet.
2) Will this escutcheon kit work on a centerset or single-hole faucet?
No. It's built for the Monterrey widespread configuration, where the spout and the two handles mount in separate deck holes. A centerset faucet uses a single base plate over a 4 inch spread, and a single-hole faucet uses one deck plate, so neither takes this kit.
3) Does the Monterrey escutcheon kit come in anything other than chrome?
Chrome only. The kit ships under part number 051212-0020A in a chrome finish, so if your Monterrey faucet is a brushed or polished brass trim, this won't match the existing deck hardware.
4) I'm ordering repair parts for a Monterrey lavatory faucet. Does this kit include the cartridges or stems?
Trim only. The 051212-0020A kit covers the escutcheons for a Monterrey widespread faucet, not the valve internals. If the faucet is also dripping, you'll need to order the stem or cartridge repair parts separately.
5) Is the Monterrey escutcheon kit suitable for commercial restrooms or is it a residential part?
The Monterrey line is a workhorse deck faucet used in both commercial washrooms and residential baths, and this escutcheon kit is catalogued as a plumbing repair part for sink applications in either. What decides it is the faucet you already have on the deck, not the building type.
