No under-deck control box. The NextGen Selectronic is a battery-powered faucet with everything integrated into the body above the deck, and it installs from the top. That matters in cramped cabinets and in retrofit work where there is no room, no power, and no appetite for running conduit. Serviceable parts are reachable without crawling under the counter.

It mixes. The NextGen Selectronic has dual inlets for hot and cold and above-deck mixing with a removable handle, so temperature is set at the deck rather than under the sink. Pulling the handle off leaves a fixed blend, which is what most facility managers do in public restrooms to stop users from running it hot.

Neither. A CR-P2 lithium battery ships installed in the faucet and American Standard rates it for 5 years. No junction box, no transformer, no low-voltage wiring to the deck, which is why battery Selectronic units get specified for retrofits where there is no power at the fixture.

An optional deck plate is available for 4-inch (102 mm) or 8-inch (203 mm) centers, so the faucet can cover an existing multi-hole deck. The plate is ordered separately, so add it to the order if you are replacing a centerset or widespread faucet and do not want exposed holes.

Service is from above the deck. The faucet installs top-down and all serviceable parts, including the battery, are accessible without dismantling supply connections below, so a battery swap or spray cleaning is a short visit rather than a callout with two techs.
