American Standard 8721000.002 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the American Standard Town Square S console table come with a sink top?
No. The 8721000 is the metal console frame only. It is design matched to American Standard 0297 pedestal tops, so you order the basin separately to complete the lavatory.
2) What are the finished dimensions of the Town Square S console lavatory once assembled?
Paired with a 0297 pedestal top, the assembly measures 30 x 22-1/2 x 35 inches (761 x 571 x 889 mm). Use that 35 inch figure when you are checking rim height against the drawing, and the 22-1/2 inch figure for clearance in front of the wall.
3) What finishes is the Town Square S console table available in?
Two: polished chrome (8721000.002) and brushed nickel (8721000.295). Pick the one that matches the faucet and drain trim you are already specifying, since the legs sit right under the basin and read as part of the trim package.
4) Can I use this console frame under a different brand's pedestal sink top?
It is built for American Standard 0297 pedestal tops and is design matched to them. Fit with any other top is not something we can confirm, so spec the 0297 top with it.
5) Is a console table a better choice than a pedestal base for a commercial or multi-family bathroom?
A console frame leaves the underside of the basin open, which keeps the plumbing reachable for service and gives a towel bar style rail look instead of hiding the trap in a column. A pedestal covers the supplies and trap but means pulling the basin to get at them. The 8721000 uses the same 0297 top either way, so the decision is about access and appearance, not about the bowl.
6) Will the drain and supplies be visible with the Town Square S console?
Yes. With an open metal console the P-trap, stops and supply risers sit in plain view under the bowl, so plan on finished trim that matches, chrome with the 8721000.002 frame or brushed nickel with the 8721000.295.
