American Standard M953579-0020A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the manufacturer part number for the American Standard Triumph shower head in chrome?
The chrome Triumph shower head from American Standard orders as M953579-0020A. That is the number to quote for a match on a replacement or a repeat order, and chrome is the only finish offered on it.
2) Will the American Standard Triumph shower head thread onto my existing shower arm?
It's a wall-mount shower head, so it threads onto the shower arm rather than replacing any in-wall plumbing. Standard shower arm thread in North America is 1/2 inch NPT, which is what residential and commercial arms are cut to, so no valve or rough-in work is involved in swapping a head.
3) Does the American Standard Triumph shower head come in brushed nickel or another finish besides chrome?
Chrome is the only finish on the Triumph shower head, ordered as M953579-0020A. If a job needs brushed nickel or an oil-rubbed finish to match existing trim, this one won't match it and you'll need a different head.
4) Is the Triumph shower head a fixed head or a handheld unit?
The Triumph is a fixed shower head that mounts to the arm, not a handheld on a hose with a slide bar. For ADA-oriented bathing in a healthcare or senior-housing unit where a hand shower is required, specify a handheld kit instead.
5) Can I standardize a whole apartment building on the American Standard Triumph shower head?
Yes, and it's the kind of part that suits fleet standardizing since there is a single orderable configuration, chrome M953579-0020A. One part number across every unit means maintenance techs carry one spare and there's no finish mismatch between buildings.
6) Does the Triumph shower head include a shower arm and flange?
What ships is the shower head itself, M953579-0020A in chrome. Plan on reusing the existing arm and escutcheon, or ordering an arm and flange separately if the old one is pitted or the finish won't match the new chrome head.
