American Standard M961736-2240A – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is American Standard part M961736-2240A?
M961736-2240A is an American Standard shower holder, the bracket that holds a handheld shower head, in an oil rubbed bronze finish. It is a replacement part for shower and tub installations rather than a complete shower kit.
2) What finish does the American Standard M961736 shower holder come in?
Oil rubbed bronze is the finish offered, ordered as M961736-2240A. If the rest of the valve trim and shower head in the bath are chrome or brushed nickel, this holder will not match them.
3) Does the American Standard shower holder include the shower head or hose?
No. The M961736 is the holder only, the wall-mounted cradle that the handheld sits in. A handheld shower head and hose are separate items if you need to replace those as well.
4) I manage apartments and need to replace a broken shower head cradle. Is this the right kind of part?
It is, provided the original was American Standard. The shower holder is sold as a standalone replacement part for shower and tub fittings, so a damaged or corroded cradle can be swapped without touching the valve. Match against the oil rubbed bronze trim already in the unit before ordering a batch.
