Battery powered. Four C-size alkaline batteries ship with the valve, so no power has to be run to the stall. That makes it a straightforward swap in an existing restroom where there is no electrical rough-in at the fixture.

0.125 gpf (0.5 Lpf), a pint per flush. That is the low-consumption end for urinals, and it only works properly on a fixture rated for 0.125 gpf. Putting it on a urinal designed for 1.0 gpf will leave the trap under-rinsed.

There is an electronically operated override button on the valve, so a user or maintenance tech can trigger a flush by hand without waiting on the infrared sensor.

The diaphragm uses American Standard's EvoLast material, made to resist chlorine and chloramine so it does not deteriorate and fail early. The body is a proprietary brass alloy that resists dezincification, which is the other common failure in aggressive water. For a facility standardizing across many urinals, those two points are the reason to pick this over a plain rubber-diaphragm valve.

DynaClean self-cleaning technology. An integral wiper spring scrubs the refill orifice on every flush, which is the orifice that clogs with debris and causes a diaphragm valve to run on. It is a maintenance point you otherwise have to service by hand.

Diaphragm type. Diaphragm valves are the common commercial choice and tolerate the water quality found in most municipal systems, where piston valves are generally preferred on water with heavy grit. If your existing urinal valves are diaphragm units, this stays consistent with the repair parts your crew already stocks.
