Blanco 235959 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which bowl of a Blanco Quatrus 60/40 sink does the 235959 grid fit?
Blanco's 235959 grid is made for the small bowl of a Quatrus 60/40 double bowl sink. It is a custom-fitted grid for select Quatrus kitchen sinks, so it is not a universal rack, and the large bowl takes a different grid. If you are outfitting both bowls, order the small bowl grid and the matching large bowl grid separately.
2) Will the 235959 sink grid block access to my sink drain?
No. The grid has a rear drain opening, so the drain stays accessible with the grid sitting in the bowl. That matters if you run a disposer or a basket strainer in the small bowl, since you can reach the drain without lifting the rack out.
3) Is this a bottom grid or a floating grid that sits at the sink rim?
It's a bottom grid. The 235959 basin rack sits on the floor of the bowl on non-skid feet and lets water drain underneath. If you want a rack that sits up at the rim to create a second working level, that's a Blanco floating grid, which is a separate accessory.
4) Will a stainless grid scratch the bottom of the sink?
The grid is built to prevent that. It rides on non-skid protective feet and has side bumpers, so the stainless frame doesn't sit metal-to-metal against the basin or slide around when you drop a pan in. Its job is protecting the sink bottom from cookware, dishes and utensils.
5) What is the Blanco 235959 grid made of, and will it rust in a commercial kitchen or rental unit?
Stainless steel, described as durable and corrosion resistant. That is the only finish the 235959 is offered in. For property managers turning units or stocking MRO shelves, it also cleans up in the dishwasher rather than needing hand scrubbing.
6) Can I use this grid as a drying rack instead of leaving it in the sink full time?
Yes. Besides protecting the basin, the 235959 works as an in-sink drying rack for glassware, utensils and plates, since water drains through the grid and out underneath it. Plenty of users pull it out, dry the bowl, and set it back in.
7) What else can I add to a Quatrus sink besides the bottom grid?
Blanco's accessory line for these sinks also includes floating grids, colanders and cutting boards, which are designed to work together with the bottom grid to add working and draining surfaces over the bowl. The 235959 itself is just the small bowl basin rack, nothing else is included with it.
