Blanco 236714 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which Blanco sink does the 236714 grid actually fit?
The 236714 grid is custom-fitted to the Blanco Cerana 30 inch farmhouse kitchen sink, models 525010 and 525011. It is cut to those basin dimensions, so it will not sit correctly in other Blanco bowls or in a non-Blanco sink. If your Cerana is a different size, you need the grid matched to that model instead.
2) Will a stainless grid scratch the bottom of the sink?
It is built to prevent that. The grid sits on non-skid protective feet and has side bumpers, so the stainless frame does not rest metal-to-metal against the basin or slide against the walls. That is the whole point of it: cookware, plates and utensils hit the grid instead of the sink floor.
3) Will the sink grid block access to the drain?
No. The grid has a center drain opening, so the drain and basket strainer stay reachable with the grid in place. Water also drains underneath the grid, which is why dishes can sit on it while you rinse.
4) What is the Blanco Cerana sink grid made of, and will it rust in daily use?
Stainless steel, described as durable and corrosion-resistant. For a property manager stocking multi-family or hospitality kitchens, that means it can stay wet in the bowl without the finish breaking down, and it can go through the dishwasher.
5) Is this a bottom grid or a floating grid that sits on a ledge?
This one is a bottom grid, a basin rack that sits on the floor of the bowl on its own feet. Blanco's floating grids are the ones that rest on a ledge partway up the basin to create a second work level. If you want the upper tier, order a floating grid; if you want to protect the sink bottom and use it as an in-sink drying rack, the 236714 is the right type.
6) Can I use the grid as a drying rack rather than leaving it in the sink full time?
Yes. Because it stands clear of the basin floor and drains underneath, it works as an in-sink drying rack for glassware, utensils and plates, and it lifts straight out when you want the full bowl. It also pairs with other Blanco sink accessories such as colanders and cutting boards.
7) What finish options does the Blanco 236714 grid come in?
One finish only: stainless steel. There is no coated or color-matched version of this grid, so it reads as bare stainless against a Cerana fireclay bowl.
