Blanco 236783 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Blanco 236783 grid fit the small bowl of a Precis 60/40 low divide sink?
No. The 236783 is cut for the LARGE bowl of the Blanco Precis 60/40 Double Bowl Low Divide kitchen sink only. The small bowl takes its own grid, since these are custom-fitted per basin rather than universal. Ordering this one for the smaller side will leave you with a rack that won't seat.
2) Will a Blanco Precis sink grid fit any other brand or model of kitchen sink?
Treat it as model-specific. Blanco builds these grids to the interior dimensions and drain location of one basin, and the 236783 is matched to the large bowl of the Precis 60/40 low divide. A grid that is slightly oversized won't drop in, and an undersized one slides around, so match the grid to the sink model rather than to bowl size alone.
3) Does this Blanco sink grid have a cutout for the drain?
Yes, there's a center drain opening so you can reach the strainer or basket without lifting the grid out. It also means the grid is oriented to a center-drain bowl, which is how the large basin of the Precis 60/40 low divide is configured.
4) Will a stainless grid scratch the bottom of the sink it's sitting in?
It shouldn't. The grid rides on non-skid protective feet and has side bumpers, so the stainless frame isn't in direct contact with the basin floor or walls. That's also what keeps it from sliding when you drop a pan in.
5) Can this be used as a drying rack instead of just a bottom grid?
It's designed to sit on the bottom of the bowl and let water drain underneath, and it doubles as an in-sink drying rack for glassware, plates and utensils. It is not a floating or over-the-rim grid, though. If you want something that sits up at the rim level to free the basin below, that's Blanco's floating grid, a separate accessory.
6) What is the Blanco part number and finish for the large bowl Precis 60/40 low divide grid?
Order Blanco 236783. Single finish, stainless steel. That number covers the large bowl grid only, so if you're outfitting both basins you'll need the matching small bowl grid as well.
7) For a rental or multi-family kitchen, is a stainless sink grid worth adding?
It's cheap insurance on the basin. The grid is stainless steel and corrosion resistant, it keeps cast iron pans and cutlery off the bottom of the bowl, and it's dishwasher safe so turnover cleaning is simple. On a composite Precis basin that mainly means fewer impact marks and less staining in the wear zone under the faucet.
