Blanco 236593 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Blanco 236593 sink grid fit any Blanco sink, or only the Precis 30-inch?
The 236593 grid is custom-fitted to Blanco PRECIS 30 inch kitchen sinks. It is cut to that specific basin footprint, including the rear drain opening, so it won't sit correctly in a different Blanco model or basin size. If your sink is a different Precis size or a different Blanco series, order the grid matched to that model instead.
2) Will a metal sink grid scratch a Blanco Precis granite composite sink?
The 236593 grid is built to protect the basin rather than mar it. It sits on non-skid protective feet and has side bumpers, so the stainless frame does not rest metal-on-basin or slide around while you are working over it. Its job is to take the impact from pots, dishes and utensils instead of the sink surface.
3) Does the Blanco Precis sink grid block the drain when it sits in the basin?
No. The grid has a rear drain opening, so the drain stays clear and accessible with the grid in place, and water drains underneath the rack rather than pooling.
4) Is this a bottom grid that sits in the basin, or a floating grid that rests on the ledge?
This is a bottom basin rack. It is designed to sit on the floor of the sink on its own feet. Blanco also makes floating grids that ride on the sink rim for a second working level, plus colanders and cutting boards, if you want a piece that sits above the basin instead.
5) What is the Blanco 236593 grid made of, and will it rust or stain in daily use?
It is stainless steel, described as durable and corrosion-resistant, which is why it holds up sitting in a wet basin all day. It is also dishwasher safe, so it can be pulled out and run through a cycle rather than scrubbed in place.
6) What part number do I order for a Blanco Precis 30 inch bottom grid?
Blanco manufacturer part number 236593, in stainless steel. That is the one finish this grid is offered in, so there is no finish choice to specify when ordering.
7) Can a sink grid double as a drying rack for glassware?
Yes, that is a normal second use for this grid. Because it stands off the basin floor and lets water run underneath, glassware, utensils and plates can be set on it to drain into the sink instead of onto the counter.
8) For a rental or multi-family unit with Blanco Precis sinks, is a bottom grid worth adding?
It is a wear part that protects a much more expensive one. Dropped cookware and dishes hit the stainless grid rather than the basin, the feet are non-skid so tenants are not sliding it around, and it is dishwasher safe for turnover cleaning. Since it is cut specifically for the Precis 30 inch basin, one part number covers every unit with that sink.
