Blanco 237145 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can I use a Blanco sink grid in a different brand's sink or another Blanco model?
Not reliably. Blanco builds each grid to a specific bowl, and the 237145 is dimensioned for the small bowl of the Formera 60/40. The rear drain cutout also has to line up with where that bowl's drain sits. If you have a different sink, match the grid to that model rather than trying to make this one work.
2) Does the grid block access to the sink drain?
No. The rear of the grid has a drain opening, so you can reach the strainer or basket without lifting the grid out, and water drains underneath while dishes sit on top.
3) Will a stainless grid scratch the bottom of my sink?
It's built to prevent that, not cause it. The grid rests on non-skid protective feet and has side bumpers, so the stainless frame isn't in direct contact with the basin floor or walls. That's the whole point of the rack: cookware, plates and utensils land on the grid instead of the sink surface.
4) Is a bottom grid or a floating grid the right choice for a 60/40 sink?
They do different jobs. The 237145 is a bottom grid: it sits on the basin floor of the small bowl and takes the impact from pots and dishes while water passes underneath. A floating grid sits up at or near the rim and works as a second-tier drying or prep surface. Property managers protecting the sink finish in a rental want the bottom grid; someone adding workstation function adds a floating grid, colander or cutting board on top of it.
5) Do I get one grid or a pair for both bowls of a Formera 60/40?
One grid, for the small bowl. The 237145 ships as a single stainless steel accessory in a stainless finish. If you want both basins protected, order the matching grid for the large bowl separately.
6) Is the Blanco 237145 sink grid dishwasher safe, and will it rust?
Dishwasher safe, and made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, so it can go through a cycle rather than being hand-scrubbed in place. That matters in hospitality and multi-family units where the grid gets pulled and cleaned on a schedule.
7) Can the grid double as a drying rack instead of just sink protection?
Yes. Because it's elevated off the basin floor and water drains beneath it, the grid works as an in-sink drying rack for glassware, utensils and plates as well as a bumper for cookware.
