Blanco 237146 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Blanco sink does the 237146 grid actually fit?
The 237146 grid is custom-fitted to one sink only: the Blanco Formera 16 inch bar sink, model 442767. It is cut to that basin's footprint, so it won't sit correctly in other Blanco bowls or in a competitor's bar sink. If your basin is a different Blanco model, order the grid built for that model instead.
2) Will a bottom sink grid scratch the stainless finish of my bar sink?
No. The grid rides on non-skid protective feet and has side bumpers, so metal never sits directly against the basin surface and the rack doesn't slide when you set a pot down. It is there to take the abuse from cookware, dishes and utensils instead of the sink itself.
3) Does this Blanco grid block the drain in a bar sink?
No. The 237146 grid has a rear drain opening, so the drain stays accessible with the grid in place and water runs out underneath. That matters in a small bar bowl where the grid covers most of the floor area.
4) Is this a bottom grid or a floating grid that sits at the rim?
It's a bottom grid. The 237146 is a basin rack designed to sit on the floor of the Formera bar sink, raising dishes off the surface and letting water drain beneath. Floating grids, which sit up near the rim to create a second work level, are a separate Blanco accessory and are not what this part is.
5) Can a sink grid like this be used as a drying rack for glassware?
Yes, that's a normal second use for it. Set glasses, utensils or plates on the grid and they drain straight into the bowl rather than onto the counter, which is handy behind a bar where counter space is short.
6) Is the Blanco 237146 grid safe to run through a dishwasher, and will it rust in a wet bar?
It's dishwasher safe, and it's built from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, so standing water and frequent washdowns in a bar or breakroom setting are not an issue. That is the reason it holds up in hospitality and multi-family common areas where the sink gets constant use.
7) What part number and finish do I order for a Formera bar sink grid?
Order Blanco 237146 in stainless steel. That is the only configuration this grid is built in, so there is no finish or size decision to make once you've confirmed your bowl is the Formera 16 inch bar sink.
8) Does anything come with the grid, or do I need mounting hardware?
Nothing to install. The grid is a drop-in accessory that rests on its own feet in the basin, so there is no hardware, no fasteners and no plumbing work involved. It ships as the stainless grid itself.
