Blanco 240327 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Blanco 240327 basket strainer fit a standard 3-1/2 inch sink drain opening?
Yes. The Blanco 240327 basket strainer is built for universal 3.5 inch drain openings, which is the standard kitchen sink drain size. If your sink bowl has a 3-1/2 inch cutout, it drops in.
2) Can the Blanco 240327 hold water in the sink, or does it only strain?
Both. It uses an open/close basket design: closed, it seals the drain so you can fill the bowl; open, water drains through while the basket catches food scraps. Useful for prep work where you want to rinse and drain in the same step.
3) What color is the Blanco 240327 strainer and what sinks does it match?
It comes in Coal Black, color-coordinated to match Blanco SILGRANIT sinks so the drain blends into the bowl instead of standing out as a bright metal ring.
4) Is this a sink grid or a drain strainer? I need to know what I'm actually ordering.
It is a metal basket strainer that installs in the sink drain opening, not a bottom grid that sits in the bowl to protect the sink surface. The Blanco 240327 is the drain component, with part number 240327.
5) For a rental or multi-family kitchen, is a basket strainer like this easy to clean out?
The basket lifts straight out for rinsing and cleaning, so a tenant or maintenance tech can clear trapped food without tools. Keeping debris out of the trap arm is the main reason to spec one on turnover units.
