Blanco 240324 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Blanco 240324 basket strainer fit a standard 3-1/2 inch sink drain opening?
Yes. The Blanco 240324 basket strainer is made for universal 3.5 inch drain openings, which is the standard kitchen sink drain size in North America. If your sink has a 3.5 inch opening, whether it is a Blanco SILGRANIT bowl or another brand, the strainer drops in.
2) What color is the Blanco 240324 strainer, and will it match my SILGRANIT sink?
The 240324 is the Cinder finish. Blanco color-coordinates these metal basket strainers to its SILGRANIT sink colors, so a Cinder sink gets a matching Cinder strainer rather than a bright chrome ring sitting in a dark bowl. If your bowl is a different SILGRANIT color, order the strainer in that color instead.
3) Can the Blanco 240324 hold water in the sink, or does it only strain?
Both. It uses an open/close design: closed, it seals the drain so you can fill the bowl, and open, it lets water drain through while catching food scraps. That is the useful part for prep work, you can rinse produce and let the water run out without pulling the basket.
4) For a rental or multi-family kitchen, is a metal basket strainer easier to maintain than a plastic one?
The 240324 basket is metal rather than plastic, and Blanco lists it as simple to remove for rinsing, cleaning and maintenance. For property managers that means a tenant can pull it out and clean it without tools, and there is no plastic body to crack or discolor at the drain.
5) What is the Blanco part number for the Cinder color-coordinated basket strainer?
Order it as Blanco 240324. That number is specifically the Cinder version of the color-coordinated metal basket strainer, so distributors and specifiers should keep the color tied to the number when quoting.
