Blanco 240339 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Blanco 240339 disposal flange fit a standard 3-1/2 inch sink drain opening?
Yes. The Blanco 240339 metal disposal flange is made for standard 3.5 inch drain openings, which is the common opening on kitchen sinks set up for a garbage disposal. If your sink is drilled for a 3-1/2 inch waste, this drops straight in.
2) Does the Blanco 240339 flange work with an InSinkErator garbage disposal?
It is designed to work with most InSinkErator garbage disposals. The flange is the sink-side finish piece that seats in the 3.5 inch drain opening and mates to the disposal mounting assembly below.
3) What color is the Blanco 240339 disposal flange, and will it match my SILGRANIT sink?
The 240339 is the Coal Black version. Blanco color-coordinates these flanges to its SILGRANIT sink colors, so ordering the flange in the same color as the sink gives a continuous look at the drain instead of a chrome ring.
4) Is the Blanco 240339 a complete disposal mounting kit or just the visible flange?
It is the flange itself, the metal waste flange that sits in the sink opening. The disposal's own mount hardware, gaskets and snap ring come with the disposal unit; this piece replaces the plain sink-side ring with a color-matched one.
5) Can I use the Blanco 240339 flange to hold water in the sink for prep work?
Yes. The flange seals tight to keep food and debris out of the pipes, and it can also be set to let water drain through, so you can hold water for prep and release it without swapping parts.
6) Do I need this flange if my sink has no garbage disposal?
No. The 240339 is a disposal flange for a 3.5 inch disposal opening. A sink without a disposal takes a standard basket strainer instead, which is a different part with a tailpiece.
7) I manage apartments with black composite kitchen sinks. Is a metal flange durable enough for tenant use?
The 240339 is a metal flange rather than plastic, and Blanco lists it as strong, durable and easy to maintain. For a rental kitchen that means the visible drain ring stands up to daily use and cleaning while still matching a Coal Black composite sink.
