1) How deep is the low divide on the Blanco Valea VAL442DBS double bowl sink?
The divider between the two bowls sits 5-1/2 inches up from the sink bottom on the Valea 50/50 undermount. That is the whole point of the low divide: a roasting pan, a half sheet pan or a stock pot lays across both bowls instead of jamming against a full-height wall, while you still get a separate prep side and cleaning side. If you wash a lot of oversized cookware but do not want a single bowl, this is the compromise.
2) Is the Blanco Valea VAL442DBS an undermount or a drop-in sink?
Undermount only. The Valea VAL442DBS mounts beneath the counter, so the countertop edge overhangs the bowl and there is no rim sitting on the deck to trap crumbs and grime. That means it needs a solid-surface counter (stone, quartz, solid surface) cut and polished for an undermount, plus clips or brackets and adhesive supplied by the fabricator. It is not a fit for a laminate top.
3) Does the Blanco Valea VAL442DBS come with a strainer or drain assembly?
No. Basket strainers are sold separately on the Valea, so budget two of them for a double bowl before the plumber shows up.
