Bobrick 4262 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Bobrick B-4262 towel dispenser work with C-fold towels, or does it need multifold?
Both. The B-4262 takes folded towels either way, holding 400 C-fold or 525 multifold. If a building already stocks one fold type across its restrooms, that stock works here with no changeover. It is a folded-towel cabinet only, so roll towel is out.
2) How far does the Bobrick B-4262 stick out from the wall in a narrow restroom?
Projection is 4-7/8 inches from the wall face. That is the number to check against a corridor or a narrow water closet where a surface-mounted cabinet can get clipped by a swinging door or crowd the required clear floor space at the lavatory.
3) Does the Bobrick B-4262 need to be recessed into the wall, or can it go on block or tile?
Surface mounted, so no wall cavity and no rough-in are needed. It hangs on the finished face, which is what makes it workable on CMU, tile over masonry, or an existing wall being renovated where cutting in a recessed cabinet is not on the table.
4) Is the Bobrick B-4262 paper towel dispenser lockable to stop towel theft in a public restroom?
A tumbler lock sits on top of the cabinet. The door swings down for loading once it is unlocked, so towels are secured between servicings, which is the usual reason facilities pick a locking cabinet over an open dispenser in high traffic public washrooms.
5) How does housekeeping know when the B-4262 needs refilling without opening every dispenser?
Slots in the cabinet sides show the towel level, so a custodian can read refill status on a walk-through instead of unlocking each unit. On a route covering dozens of restrooms that is the difference between a service round and an inspection round.
6) Does the Bobrick B-4262 dispenser need power or batteries?
No power at all. Operation is manual, so the buyer pulls a towel from the bottom of the cabinet. There is no electrical rough-in, no battery replacement on the service schedule, and no sensor to fail, which matters when standardizing across a portfolio of buildings.
7) Will a stainless paper towel dispenser hold up in a school or stadium restroom?
The B-4262 cabinet is stainless steel in a satin finish. Satin hides fingerprints and minor scratching better than a bright polish, which is why it is the standard choice in institutional washrooms where the unit gets handled constantly and cleaned with abrasive chemicals.
8) Is there more than one finish option for the Bobrick B-4262?
One finish only, satin stainless. There is no powder coat or bright polished version of this model, so matching it to other washroom accessories means matching to satin stainless.
