Bobrick 262 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size towels does the Bobrick B-262 dispenser take, and how many does it hold?
The B-262 runs folded towels only: 400 C-fold or 525 multifold per fill. It will not take roll towel, so if your building is already stocked with rolls you need a roll dispenser instead. For a high traffic restroom, the multifold count is the one to plan restocking against.
2) Is the B-262 towel dispenser lockable for a public restroom?
The door carries a tumbler lock and hangs on a piano hinge, so the cabinet stays closed to the public and the full-length hinge holds up to repeated opening by custodial staff. That combination is why it gets specified in schools, transit, and other high-abuse restrooms.
3) Can I surface mount this towel dispenser on a tile or block wall instead of cutting into drywall?
Yes. The B-262 is a surface-mounted, wall-mounted unit, so it hangs on the face of the wall with no recess or cut-in. That makes it the practical choice for tile, CMU, or any wall where you cannot open up the cavity. If your spec calls for a flush look, you want a recessed cabinet model rather than this one.
4) Is the Bobrick B-262 ADA compliant?
The B-262 is listed as ADA compliant. Compliance still depends on how you hang it, so set the mounting height so the towel tray opening falls within the reach range for your facility type.
5) What material and finish is the Bobrick B-262, and will it match other washroom accessories?
Satin-finish stainless steel throughout. That is the same satin stainless used across most commercial washroom accessory lines, so it reads consistently alongside satin stainless grab bars, mirrors, and soap dispensers. Only one finish is offered, so there is no polished or painted option to choose.
6) Will the towel opening on this dispenser cut hands during use?
The towel tray opening on the B-262 is hemmed, meaning the edge is folded over rather than left as a raw sheared edge. That is the detail that keeps a stainless dispenser from being a cut hazard in a public restroom.
7) Does the Bobrick B-262 need power or batteries?
No. It is a manual, gravity-fed folded towel dispenser, so there is no sensor, no transformer, and no outlet or battery to maintain. Nothing to coordinate with the electrician on the job.
