1) Do I need to know the backset before ordering this Brinks lever?
No. The latch is 4-way adjustable and works with either a 2-3/8 inch or 2-3/4 inch backset, so one part covers both of the usual bore positions. Measure from the door edge to the center of the bore hole and set the latch to match.
2) Is the Brinks Raleigh wave lever handed, or does it work on a left-hand door?
