TOTO YT902S4U#BN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How much wall space do I need for the TOTO G Series 18 inch towel bar?
Plan for about 18-13/16 inches of wall run. The bar is sold as an 18 inch towel bar, but the overall width including the two posts measures 18.8125 inches, and it projects 1.75 inches off the wall with a 0.6875 inch profile. That matters if you are fitting it between a door casing and a vanity edge, where the nominal 18 inches would mislead you.
2) Does the TOTO YT902S4U#BN towel bar come with mounting hardware, or do I need to supply anchors?
Mounting hardware for drywall is in the box, along with the bar itself. If you are mounting into tile, cement board, or hitting studs, you will want your own fasteners suited to that substrate, since what ships is specified for drywall.
3) Is this a wall-mounted towel bar or does it mount on a door or cabinet?
Wall-mount only. The G Series round towel bar installs on two wall posts, and the hardware supplied is drywall anchoring hardware. For a door or cabinet mount you need a different style of bar.
4) Will this towel bar match other TOTO bathroom accessories I already have?
It is part of the TOTO Global Series collection and is designed to coordinate with the rest of that line, so if your existing accessories are Global Series in brushed nickel the round profile and finish will carry across. Against a different TOTO collection, expect the shapes to differ even where the finish reads the same.
5) Is this towel bar solid metal or plastic with a plated coating?
Solid metal construction, which is why the whole assembly weighs 1.4 pounds. For rental turns and hospitality bathrooms, that matters more than looks: a plated plastic bar flexes at the posts and a metal one does not.
6) Can I replace an existing 18 inch towel bar with this one without patching the wall?
Not reliably. The TOTO G Series bar spans 18.8125 inches post to post overall and ships with its own drywall hardware, so the post centers will rarely land on the old anchor holes. Budget for patching and repainting, or plan to cover the old holes with the new escutcheons only if they happen to line up.
7) What finish does the TOTO G Series round towel bar YT902S4U come in?
Brushed nickel, under the #BN finish suffix in the part number YT902S4U#BN. That is the only finish this 18 inch round bar is built in, so for a multi-unit job where you are standardizing finishes across bathrooms, brushed nickel is the commitment.
