The sensor is strategically positioned underneath the spout head to accurately sense the hands for touchless use. The 0.5 GPM 10 second on-demand faucet uses only 0.08 gallons per cycle and is CEC and CALGreen compliant. The on-demand system means that water flows only when needed and cannot be accidentally left running. When hands are present, the water will flow, and when hands are removed, the water will stop. 1) Does the TOTO Helix wall-mount touchless faucet spout come with the controller, or do I have to order that separately?
Spout body only. The Helix wall-mount sensor faucet needs a compatible TOTO ECOPOWER self-generating or 120V AC controller ordered alongside it, plus a supply line for the G 1/2 inch connection. A mixing valve is also separate and is only needed if the water reaching the spout is not already premixed. No drain and no valve are included, so budget those into the job if the opening does not already have them.
2) What has to be roughed into the wall for a TOTO Helix wall-mount sensor faucet?
It is a wall-mount spout taking a single hole, so the wall carries one penetration for the spout body and a G 1/2 inch water supply behind it. The controller lives behind the wall or in the chase, so leave access for it, and for the mixing valve if you are running hot and cold to a blended feed. 3) ECOPOWER or AC for a TOTO Helix touchless faucet, which should I run?

Yes, the Helix wall-mount sensor spout is ADA compliant. It is also CEC and CALGreen compliant, which is what a California project or a spec calling for CALGreen will ask for.
5) Can I get hot water at a TOTO Helix touchless spout?
Only if the water is blended before it gets there. The spout is a single-hole wall-mount body fed by one G 1/2 inch supply, so it delivers whatever temperature arrives at it. For tempered water you add a mixing valve upstream, sold separately. If the building already runs premixed tempered water to the lavatories, no valve is needed at the fixture.
6) Can I swap a Helix touchless spout onto an existing deck-mounted lavatory faucet hole?
No. This is a wall-mount body, not a deck-mount, so it will not drop into a hole in a countertop or a three-hole lavatory deck. The wall behind the fixture has to carry the single spout penetration and the G 1/2 inch supply, with the controller accessible behind it. For a counter or basin with existing deck holes you need a deck-mount TOTO sensor faucet instead.
7) Which Helix spout meets a 0.35 GPM flow spec?
TLE26005U2#CP is the 0.35 GPM part, paired with a 20 second on-demand cycle. The other two Helix wall-mount spouts run 0.5 GPM. If your spec sheet or a water-efficiency requirement caps lavatory flow at 0.35 GPM, that is the part number to order, not the 0.5 GPM versions.
8) Can I standardize a whole building of restrooms on the Helix wall-mount spout in one finish?
All three Helix wall-mount spout configurations are polished chrome with a chrome plated brass body, so the 0.35 GPM, the 10 second and the 20 second continuous versions all match visually across a facility. You can mix flow behaviors between, say, staff and public restrooms and the fixtures still read as one set.
9) Will a low-flow touchless faucet feel weak to users in a busy restroom?
The Helix spouts use ECO CAP aerating technology, which balances air into the stream so a 0.35 or 0.5 GPM flow still washes and rinses without feeling thin.
