TOTO THP739#01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the TOTO THP739 ceramic drain cover work with a pop-up drain, or only a wire type drain?
Wire type drain assemblies only. The THP739 cover plate is made for faucets using a wire type drain, specifically the TOTO GB19 faucet models. If your sink runs a pop-up or a lift-rod drain, this cover is not the right part.
2) What exactly comes in the box with the TOTO THP739#01?
The drain cover plate only. There is no drain body, tailpiece, or wire assembly included, so the sink already needs a working wire type drain in place before this goes on. It is a cosmetic cap over the existing chrome drain.
3) Is the TOTO THP739 drain cover the right part for a Kiwami sink?
Yes. The THP739#01 is a Kiwami Sink Collection part, made to hide the chrome drain on that sink with a white ceramic plate so the basin reads as one uniform surface.
4) What color is the TOTO THP739#01 drain cover?
White. The #01 suffix on TOTO part numbers is their Cotton White finish, and the plate is described as a decorative white ceramic cover, which is why it blends into a white Kiwami basin instead of showing the chrome drain.
5) Does installing the TOTO THP739 cover require a plumber or pulling the drain?
No plumbing work. It sits over the existing chrome drain on the sink, so it goes on without breaking into the trap or removing the drain body. Anyone doing punch list or turnover work can fit it.
6) What is the TOTO THP739 drain cover made of, and will it hold up in a commercial restroom?
It is built from ceramic and brass, so the visible plate matches vitreous china sink surfaces and the underlying hardware is metal rather than plastic. That is a finish part, not a structural one, and in a high traffic public washroom a loose ceramic cover is something guests can lift off or drop.
7) Can I use this TOTO ceramic cover on a kitchen sink or a tub drain?
No. The THP739#01 is a sink application part tied to the Kiwami lavatory sink and GB19 faucet wire drain, not a kitchen strainer or a tub waste.
