TOTO THP737#01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the TOTO THP737#01 drain assembly replace the older THU733#01?
Yes. The THP737#01 lever faucet drain fitting assembly is the replacement for the THU733#01, with one functional difference worth knowing before you order: the kick lever is longer, at 11.8 inches (300 mm). If you are swapping one out under an existing Kiwami sink, plan for that extra lever length behind the bowl.
2) What sink is the THP737#01 drain fitting made for?
It is the drain fitting assembly for the TOTO Kiwami sink used with lever faucets. The Kiwami vessel sink and the faucet itself are separate purchases, so the THP737#01 on its own gets you the drain hardware and the cover, not the fixture.
3) Does the TOTO THP737#01 come with the ceramic drain cover, or is that ordered separately?
The cover is included. You get the drain assembly plus a decorative cotton white ceramic top cover that conceals the chrome drain. Nothing extra to specify for the cover, and the finish code on the part number is the single option offered, THP737#01.
4) Is the THP737#01 a pop-up you push, or is it operated from the faucet?
It is a lever-operated drain, actuated by a kick lever rather than by pressing the stopper. That lever runs 11.8 inches (300 mm), which is the linkage that ties the drain to the lever faucet control.
5) Why would I choose the ceramic-covered drain instead of leaving the standard chrome drain exposed?
It is purely an appearance decision. On a Kiwami basin the chrome drain reads as a metal disc in the middle of the bowl; the cotton white ceramic cover blends it into the porcelain instead. The drain works the same either way, so pick it when the spec calls for a monolithic all-white bowl.
