The TOTO NEOREST 1.28 or 0.9 GPF Dual Flush In-Wall Tank Unit is designed fro use with the NEOREST AC or EW wall-hung toilet and top unit. The in-wall unit provides you with the opportunity to save up to 9 inches of floor space within your bathroom. The NEOREST in-wall tank unit is auto flush capable and provides a dual flush option for the right amount of flush for the required job. You can select between a 0.9 or a 1.28 gallons per flush with a push of a button. The harness of the NEOREST in-wall tank unit allows you to select a mounting height of 15 to 19 inches. This provides the opportunity for you to establish a comfortable bowl height for a wide array of individuals. The in-wall unit can support up to 880lbs when installed properly. The kit includes a copper water supply line and a 2” x 6” polyethylene waste outlet for installation within a 2” x 6” stud setting. If you require installation within a 2” x 4” setting, you have the option to purchase TOTO’s 2” x 4” PVC outlet kit (THU343). The NEOREST toilet bowl, top unit, and push button plate are sold separately.

The WT174M is the in-wall carrier and tank only. The NEOREST bowl, the top unit, and the push button flush plate are all separate purchases. What does come in the box is the copper water supply line and a 2 inch by 6 inch polyethylene waste outlet.
2) Will the TOTO WT174M fit in a 2x4 stud wall?
Not as shipped. The waste outlet supplied with the WT174M is sized for a 2 inch by 6 inch stud bay. For a 2x4 wall, TOTO sells a 2 inch by 4 inch PVC outlet kit, part THU343, which has to be bought separately.
3) Which TOTO toilets does the WT174M in-wall tank work with?
It is built for the NEOREST AC and NEOREST EW wall-hung bowls used with the matching top unit. It is not a universal in-wall carrier for other bowls.
4) What bowl height can I set with a NEOREST in-wall tank carrier?
The harness adjusts so the bowl can be mounted anywhere from 15 to 19 inches off the finished floor. That range lets you hit a comfort height for most adults or drop it lower where a shorter seat height is wanted. Set it before the wall is closed up.

Yes. It is flagged CA drought compliant and TX drought compliant, and the dual flush runs 0.9 or 1.28 gallons per flush, so the full flush is at the 1.28 GPF high-efficiency level and the reduced flush is well under it.

Up to 9 inches of floor depth, because the tank sits inside the stud cavity instead of behind the bowl. In small or ADA-tight bathrooms that is usually the reason to go in-wall, and it also leaves open floor under the bowl for cleaning.

The WT174M tank is insulated, which is what keeps condensation off the tank body where you cannot get to it once the wall is closed. It is a gravity flush tank, so no pump or minimum flow-rate supply is involved.
