TOTO THU737N-A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the TOTO THU737N-A?
It's the genuine TOTO drain valve, also called the flush valve, for dual-flush toilets. It's the tank component the water passes through on its way into the bowl, sold as a replacement part rather than a complete toilet or a complete tank kit.
2) Will the THU737N-A work on a single-flush TOTO toilet?
No. This drain valve is built for TOTO dual-flush toilets, where the valve has to support both a partial and a full flush volume. A single-flush TOTO tank takes a different flush valve, so match the replacement to your specific single-flush model instead.
3) How do I make sure I'm ordering the right TOTO flush valve for my toilet?
Order by the part number, not by appearance. TOTO publishes a specific repair part number per toilet model, and this one is THU737N-A. Check the part number called out for your toilet model before ordering, because TOTO dual-flush tanks use several different drain valves that look similar but seat differently.
4) My TOTO dual-flush toilet runs constantly or won't hold water in the tank. Is the drain valve the fix?
Usually, yes. When a dual-flush tank leaks down into the bowl or the water keeps cycling, the seal on the drain valve is the most common cause, and TOTO's remedy is to replace the valve assembly. Rule out the fill valve first by shutting the supply off; if the tank level still drops with the water off, the drain valve is the leak path and the THU737N-A is the replacement for TOTO dual-flush models that call for it.
5) Is the THU737N-A an original TOTO part or an aftermarket copy?
It's a genuine TOTO part, ordered under TOTO manufacturer part number THU737N-A. For a property manager keeping a fleet of TOTO dual-flush toilets running, that matters: the tank openings and seal geometry on TOTO dual-flush tanks are matched to TOTO's own valve, and generic units are a common source of callbacks.
6) Does the THU737N-A drain valve include the push button or the fill valve?
What's supplied is the drain (flush) valve itself. If your repair also involves the push button assembly, the fill valve, or the tank-to-bowl gasket and bolts, those are separate TOTO part numbers and need to be ordered alongside it.
7) Is this a plumbing repair part or a finish trim item?
It's a working repair part, not trim. The THU737N-A is a drain assembly component that lives inside the toilet tank and is never seen once the lid is on, so finish isn't a consideration when you order it.
