TOTO THP4790#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the TOTO THP4790#CP part?
THP4790#CP is a TOTO face plate nut, the threaded nut that secures the cover plate (escutcheon) on a TOTO trim assembly. It is a replacement hardware piece, not a valve or cartridge body, so it only resolves a loose or missing face plate nut.
2) Will ordering THP4790#CP get me a new TOTO valve cartridge?
No. Despite how the part is often labeled, THP4790#CP is the face plate nut, a cover plate retaining component. If the shower or tub valve is dripping or the temperature control has failed, you need the TOTO cartridge for that specific valve body, not this nut.
3) What finish is TOTO THP4790#CP supplied in?
The #CP suffix on THP4790#CP is TOTO's polished chrome code, and that is the only finish this part number is built in. If the trim on the fixture is brushed nickel or another TOTO finish, you need the matching TOTO part number for that finish instead, since the nut is visible once the plate is set.
