TOTO TCU854CRS#11 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which Toto toilet tanks does the TCU854CRS#11 china lid fit?
The TCU854CRS#11 is the vitreous china tank lid for Toto 854S, 854SL and 853S tanks. It is a replacement lid only, so it ships without any trip lever or trim and is matched to those tank models by the lid casting, not by adjusting it on site. If the tank on your fixture carries a different model number, this lid will not seat correctly.
2) Is TCU854CRS#11 just the lid, or does it include the flush handle and tank parts?
Lid only. TCU854CRS#11 is the china cover that sits on top of the tank; trip levers, flush valves, fill valves and gaskets are separate order items. If a cracked lid is the problem, this is the only piece you need, but a broken handle or a running toilet means ordering the trim or valve parts as well.
3) I manage apartments and need to match the finish on an existing Toto toilet. What color is the #11 lid?
The #11 suffix on a Toto part number is their Colonial White color code, and TCU854CRS#11 is supplied in that color. Toto's plain white is #01, so a #11 lid next to a #01 bowl will read as a visible mismatch. Check the color suffix stamped on the existing fixture before you order a lid for a fleet of units.
4) Can a china tank lid be trimmed or ground to fit a tank it wasn't made for?
No. Vitreous china tank lids are fired to a fixed shape and cutting or grinding one cracks the glaze and usually the body. The TCU854CRS#11 has to go on an 854S, 854SL or 853S tank as made. For any other Toto tank, order the lid that carries that tank's own part number.
5) Is this a residential or commercial toilet part?
It is a toilet tank component, and Toto's 853/854 tanks are used in both settings, so the same lid serves a single-family replacement and a multi-family or hospitality repair order. Nothing about the lid changes between applications.
