TOTO THP5465 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the TOTO THP5465 part used for?
THP5465 is a TOTO diverter body, the rough-in valve body that routes water between outlets in a shower and tub installation. It is the in-wall working part, not the visible trim handle or escutcheon, so a complete installation also needs the matching trim.
2) What part number do I give my plumber or supplier for the TOTO diverter body?
Quote TOTO THP5465. That is the manufacturer part number for the diverter body, and it is the only identifier needed to match the correct item for a tub and shower application.
3) Can the THP5465 diverter body be used in a shower-only installation?
TOTO lists the THP5465 body for shower and tub service. A diverter exists to send water between two outlets, typically a tub spout and a showerhead, so in a shower-only layout with a single outlet there is nothing for it to divert. Use a straight shower valve body in that case.
