TOTO THU9223 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is TOTO THU9223 and what does it do on a NEOREST toilet?
THU9223 is the set of lid bumpers for the TOTO NEOREST 550. They are the small cushions the toilet lid rests on, so the lid seats quietly and does not sit directly on the china. It is a replacement part only, not a lid or a tank.
2) Will the THU9223 bumpers fit a NEOREST model other than the 550?
TOTO lists THU9223 as the lid bumpers for the NEOREST 550. Other NEOREST models carry their own bumper part numbers, so match the part to the exact NEOREST model you are servicing rather than assuming it carries across the line.
3) My NEOREST lid clunks and sits crooked - is a bumper the part I need?
If the lid rocks, sits unevenly, or knocks against the china when it closes, worn or missing bumpers are the usual cause and THU9223 is the replacement for the NEOREST 550. If the problem is the lid not closing under power or not latching, that is a mechanism issue and bumpers will not correct it.
4) What part number do I give my plumber or purchasing agent for NEOREST 550 lid bumpers?
Order by TOTO MPN THU9223. That is the full designation for the NEOREST 550 lid bumpers, and it is the number to put on a purchase order or hand to a service tech.
5) Is THU9223 offered in different colors or finishes to match my toilet?
No. The NEOREST 550 lid bumpers are supplied as a single configuration under THU9223, with no color or finish choices to specify.
