TOTO TEU3UA12#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TEU3UA12#SS a urinal fixture or just the flush valve?
It is the flush valve, not the china. The TEU3UA12#SS is TOTO's EcoPower concealed urinal flush valve rated at 0.125 gallons per flush. If you are replacing a whole urinal you still need the fixture itself; this part handles the flushing only.
2) Will a 0.125 gpf urinal valve flush properly on an existing 1.0 gallon urinal?
Not reliably. A 0.125 gpf valve like the TEU3UA12#SS is a one-pint flush and is intended for urinal china engineered for that volume. Older 1.0 gpf or 1.5 gpf bowls were designed around a much larger water column, and pairing them with a pint valve commonly leaves waste in the trap. Match the valve volume to the fixture's rated gpf.
3) Is the TOTO TEU3UA12#SS flush valve exposed or hidden behind the wall?
Concealed. The valve body mounts behind the finish wall with only the sensor plate visible, so it needs an accessible chase or an access panel behind the urinal. If your wall is solid tile over block with no access, an exposed valve is the easier retrofit.
4) Does the TEU3UA12#SS concealed urinal valve need power or wiring run to it?
It is a TOTO EcoPower valve, which is self-generating, so no line voltage or transformer has to be run to the fixture. For a restroom retrofit where pulling power into the chase is the problem, that is the main reason to pick this over a hardwired sensor valve.
5) Where can I get the rough-in dimensions for the TOTO TEU3UA12#SS?
TOTO publishes a spec sheet for the TEU3UA12#SS with the rough-in and mounting detail, hosted at https://media.distributordatasolutions.com/toto/2021q1/documents/4701f23a05a4bf1f6fc7cc11287584af2c248c72.pdf. Pull that before framing the chase, since a concealed valve has to be located in the wall before the urinal is hung.
6) Is the TEU3UA12#SS a good choice for standardizing urinals across a facility?
For a building where you want one flush volume and no batteries to change, yes. Every opening gets the same 0.125 gpf concealed sensor valve, which keeps water use predictable per flush and keeps the maintenance kit list short. The tradeoff is that concealed valves require wall access at each fixture, so mixed construction in older wings may push you to an exposed valve there.
