TOTO THU747-A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) My TOTO toilet keeps running or refills on its own. Will a THU747-A flush tower seal gasket fix it?
A phantom flush or a tank that trickles down is most often the tower seal, and the THU747-A is that seal. It is a rubber sealing gasket replacement rather than a fill valve or trip lever part, so it addresses water passing from the tank into the bowl, not a tank that overfills at the fill valve. If the water level is climbing to the overflow instead, the fill valve is the part to look at.
2) Does the TOTO THU747-A come as a single gasket or a multi-pack?
The THU747-A ships as a 10 piece pack of flush tower seal gaskets, so it suits an MRO stockroom or a property manager servicing a run of TOTO toilets rather than a single one-off repair. One order covers ten fixtures.
3) Is TOTO THU747-A the whole flush valve tower or just the seal?
Just the seal. The THU747-A is the gasket only, so if the tower body itself is cracked or the canister will not seat, a gasket will not correct it and you need the tower assembly instead. Order the gasket when the tower is intact and only the rubber has failed.
4) What part number do I give my supplier for a TOTO flush tower seal gasket?
TOTO THU747-A is the manufacturer part number to quote. TOTO service parts are model specific, so match the THU747-A callout to the tower on your tank rather than ordering by description alone.
