TOTO THP4070 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is TOTO THP4070 the whole hand shower head or just a seal?
THP4070 is a replacement O-ring, not a complete hand shower. It is the small sealing ring used in the TOTO Soiree hand shower assembly, measuring 16.3 mm outside diameter with a 2.1 mm cross section. If your hand shower body is cracked or the spray face is failing, the O-ring will not fix it; you need the shower component itself.
2) What size O-ring is TOTO THP4070?
The dimensions are an outside diameter of 16.3 and a cord (cross section) diameter of 2.1, in millimeters. If you are matching an old ring, measure the OD across the ring and the thickness of the cord itself and compare to those two numbers before ordering.
3) I am a property manager replacing leaking hand showers across several units. Will one THP4070 work for all of them?
Only if those units use the TOTO Soiree hand shower. THP4070 is the O-ring specified for that TOTO hand shower assembly, and it is sold as a single ring, one MPN with no size or material options. Other TOTO shower lines and other brands use different seal sizes, so confirm the Soiree model on each fixture before you buy in quantity.
4) My TOTO hand shower drips at the hose connection. Is THP4070 the right fix?
If the drip is at a slip or swivel joint rather than out of the spray face, a failed O-ring is the usual cause and THP4070 is the seal TOTO lists for the Soiree hand shower. Pull the joint apart first and look at the old ring: flattened, glazed or split means replace it. Water coming from the spray face or the handle body is a different problem.
5) Do I need any tools or extra parts to install the THP4070 O-ring?
It is a hand-installed seal. Shut the water, take the hand shower apart at the joint that is weeping, pull the old ring out of its groove, seat the new 16.3 mm ring in the same groove and reassemble. Nothing else ships with the part, and no thread sealant or tape belongs on an O-ring joint.
