TOTO TEU2UAI411#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the TOTO TEU2UAI411#SS mount on the wall surface or behind it?
Behind it. This is a concealed EFV, so the valve body goes inside the wall chase and only the sensor plate shows in the room. That means you need in-wall access and a rough-in built for a concealed valve, a surface-mounted exposed flushometer will not drop into the same opening.
2) Will a 0.125 gpf urinal valve work on any urinal fixture?
No. A flush valve has to match the fixture's rated flush volume. The TEU2UAI411#SS delivers 0.125 gallons per flush, so it belongs on a urinal designed for 1/8 gallon high-efficiency flushing. Putting it on a 0.5 gpf or 1.0 gpf urinal under-flushes the trap and causes drainline and odor problems. Check the flush rate stamped on the fixture before ordering.
3) I'm a property manager replacing manual urinal flushometers, is the TOTO TEU2UAI411#SS a direct swap?
Not a direct swap in most cases. A manual handle flushometer is an exposed valve mounted on the finished wall, while the TEU2UAI411#SS is a concealed electronic unit that lives inside the chase. Converting means opening the wall, and the urinal itself has to be a 0.125 gallon fixture. If you want a sensor conversion without wall work, look at an exposed retrofit electronic flushometer instead.
4) What is an IoT EFV, and does it need power or plumbing connections beyond the supply?
EFV is TOTO's electronic flush valve, and the IoT version is the connected model, meaning it reports and is managed over a network rather than operating as a standalone sensor valve only. Facilities buying these for restroom fleets are usually standardizing so usage and service data come back from every fixture. Plan the rough-in with the concealed valve body and network provisions in the chase.
5) What finish does the TOTO TEU2UAI411#SS urinal flush valve come in?
The #SS suffix on the model number is TOTO's stainless finish designation, and that is the single configuration this valve is built in, model TEU2UAI411#SS. If you are standardizing a restroom group, every unit will match since there is no alternate finish on this model.
