The TOTO T40 Legato WASHLET+ Ready One-Piece Elongated 1.28 GPF Universal Height Toilet with Skirted Design and Auto Flush Compatibility has a bold and modern high-profile design, projecting TOTO's mark of excellence: "People Planet Water." The TOTO Legato features a sleek, one-piece design that will immediately beautify the appearance of your bathroom. The one-piece design is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also offers the benefit of being easier to clean versus a two-piece toilet. By removing the gap between the tank and bowl, we eliminate the hiding place for dirt and debris. An additional benefit of the one-piece toilet is that there is no threat of leaks from bolts or gaskets that can occur in two-piece toilets. The Skirted Design of the TOTO Legato conceals the trapway, which enhances the elegant look of the toilet and adds an additional level of sophistication. Skirted Design toilets also eliminate the need to reach behind the bowl to clean the nooks and crannies of the exterior trapway. The TOTO Legato features TOTO's TORNADO FLUSH, a hole-free rim design with dual-nozzles that creates a centrifugal washing action that assists in rinsing the bowl more efficiently. This version of the TOTO Legato includes CEFIONTECT, a layer of ceramic glaze that minimizes waste from sticking to ceramic surfaces. This feature, coupled with TORNADO FLUSH, assists to reduce the frequency of toilet cleanings, minimizing the usage of water, harsh chemicals, and time required for cleaning. The TOTO Legato is designed in TOTO's Universal Height, which allows for a more comfortable seat position across a wide range of users. This version of the Legato offers TOTO T40 WASHLET+ and Auto Flush compatibility for when you are ready to upgrade. WASHLET+ toilets feature a channel on the bowl surface to help conceal your WASHLET+ supply line and power cord for seamless integration. The Legato comes ready for install into a 12" rough-in, but may be adapted for a 10" or 14" rough-in with the purchase of a separately sold adapter. The Legato is ADA compliant and meets the standards for EPA WaterSense, and California's CEC and CALGreen requirements. The TOTO Legato has a left-hand chrome trip lever. T40 WASHLET+ or seat designed for WASHLET+ needs to be purchased separately.

TOTO CST624CEFGAT40#01 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Toto Legato fit a 12 inch rough-in, and what if my rough-in is 10 or 14 inches?
The Legato ships ready for a 12 inch rough-in. For a 10 inch or 14 inch rough-in you add a TOTO adapter, TSU03W.10R for 10 inch and TSU03W.14R for 14 inch, bought separately. That covers most retrofits in older multi-family and hospitality buildings where the closet flange sits at 10 inches. Measure from the finished wall to the center of the flange bolts before you order the adapter.
2) Is the Toto Legato ADA compliant for a commercial or accessible restroom?
Yes. The Legato is ADA compliant and built in TOTO's Universal Height, with a 16-1/8 inch rim height. Seat height runs 17-5/8 inches on the standard-seat models and 16-11/16 inches on the MS624234CEFG. It also meets EPA WaterSense, California CEC, and CALGreen requirements, which is what most institutional specs and California jobs are checking for.
3) What do I still have to buy to install a Toto Legato toilet?
The Legato includes the tank to bowl gasket, tank to bowl hardware, and bolt caps. You supply the wax ring, toilet mounting bolts, and water supply line. The seat is separate too: either a T40 WASHLET+ bidet seat or a compatible SS124 or SS234 seat. Auto Flush is an optional kit, also separate. Order those with the toilet or the fixture sits uninstalled on the job.
4) Can I put any toilet seat on the Toto Legato, or does it need a specific one?
Two paths. If you want a plain seat, the Legato takes the TOTO SS124 or SS234. If you want a bidet seat, it has to be a T40 WASHLET+ unit, because the bowl has a channel that hides the WASHLET supply line and power cord. A generic aftermarket bidet seat will not tuck into that channel and will leave the cord exposed on a skirted bowl.
5) What is the difference between the Legato bowl only, the one-piece toilet, and the WASHLET+ package?
Three ways to order. Bowl Only suits a job where the tank or a WASHLET assembly is already on site or ordered separately. One Piece Toilet is the complete fixture, tank and bowl in a single skirted casting. Washlet + Toilet is the toilet bundled with a WASHLET seat, offered with the C2, C5, or LEGATO washlet, or as Connection Only if you want the plumbing and electrical provisions without the seat yet. Seat choice on the bundles is Slim or Standard.
6) Is a 1.28 GPF toilet like the Toto Legato strong enough for a high-traffic building?
The Legato flushes 1.28 gallons through TORNADO FLUSH, a hole-free rim with dual nozzles that spins the water around the bowl rather than dribbling it down rim holes, and it runs a 3 inch flush valve, the larger of the two common sizes, so the tank dumps fast. The CEFIONTECT glaze keeps waste from clinging, which cuts how often housekeeping has to scrub. That combination is what makes the 1.28 rating workable in apartments, offices, and hotels rather than just residential baths.
7) Should I spec a one-piece toilet like the Legato or a two-piece for a rental property?
A one-piece like the Legato removes the tank-to-bowl joint entirely, so there is no bolt or gasket seam to weep years later, and no crevice between tank and bowl collecting dirt. That is the argument for it in units you do not want to keep servicing. The trade-off is handling: it comes as a single 114 pound piece rather than two liftable halves, and a cracked tank means replacing the whole fixture rather than a tank. For a fleet of identical units where turnover cleaning time matters, the one-piece skirted body wins.
8) Can I add a bidet seat or auto flush to the Toto Legato later instead of now?
Yes, and that is the point of the WASHLET+ Ready build. The bowl already has the concealment channel for the WASHLET supply line and cord, and the fixture is Auto Flush compatible, so you can set the toilet now and add the T40 WASHLET+ seat or the Auto Flush kit later without swapping the fixture. Note the electrical: a WASHLET seat needs a receptacle behind the toilet, so rough one in during construction even if the seat comes later.
9) Which side is the flush handle on the Toto Legato?
Left-hand trip lever, in chrome. Worth checking against your compartment layout: in a narrow water closet stall or a bowl set tight to a side wall, a left lever can end up against the partition. Standardize the orientation across a floor and housekeeping stops hunting for the handle.
10) What colors does the Toto Legato come in?
Two: Cotton White and Bone. Cotton White is TOTO's #01 code and Bone is #03, which is how the model numbers read, for example MS624124CEFG#01 versus MS624124CEFG#03. If you are matching existing fixtures across a building, order by the suffix rather than by the color name on the box.
