TOTO THU9603#12 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the TOTO THU9603#12 part, and what does it do?
It's a flush connect cover plate for a TOTO toilet, ordered as part number THU9603#12. It's the trim cover that conceals the flush connect fitting on the fixture, not a flush valve or a working mechanism, so it only addresses appearance and coverage of that connection point.
2) Will the THU9603#12 cover work on any brand of toilet, or only TOTO?
Treat it as a TOTO-only part. It's a TOTO flush connect cover matched to the N550H, and a flush connect cover is cut to the specific fitting and fixture it trims, so it should not be ordered as a universal escutcheon for another manufacturer's toilet.
3) I'm replacing a damaged flush connect cover on a TOTO N550H in a commercial restroom. Is THU9603#12 the right order number?
Yes, for the N550H that's the flush connect cover, and the full designation to put on the order is THU9603#12. The #12 suffix is the finish code in TOTO's numbering, so quote it complete rather than just THU9603 if you want the cover to match the other fittings in the room.
4) Does the THU9603#12 cover include the flush valve or mounting hardware to finish the job?
No. What you get is the cover plate itself. Any flush connect fitting, valve, gaskets or spud hardware behind it are separate parts, so if the failure is in the working flush connection and not just the trim, the cover alone won't put the fixture back in service.
5) Can I standardize this cover across several restrooms in my building?
Only where the fixtures are TOTO N550H units. The cover is model-specific trim, so a facility with mixed TOTO models will need the cover that matches each model rather than one part number across the board. Where the N550H is the standard fixture, THU9603#12 is the single line item to stock for that trim.
