The Promenade II tank includes a tank to bowl gasket, tank to bowl hardware, and toilet bolt caps. The tank features TOTO's Tornado Flush, a hole-free rim design with dual-nozzles that creates a centrifugal washing action that assists in rinsing the bowl more efficiently. This version of the tank comes equipped with a decorative right-hand chrome trip lever. The Promenade II meets the standards for EPA WaterSense, and California's CEC and CALGreen requirements. Additional items needed for installation and use must be purchased separately: toilet bowl, wax ring, toilet mounting bolts, water supply lines, and toilet seat. TOTO ST403ER#01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which toilet bowl does the TOTO Promenade II tank fit?
The Promenade II tank is built for the Promenade II bowl, and the ST403E version is stated to work on the C404CUFG bowl. It will not mount to a bowl from another series, so match the bowl before ordering. The bowl itself is sold separately.
2) Does the Promenade II tank come with the bowl, seat and supply line?
No. What's in the box is the tank-to-bowl gasket, the tank-to-bowl hardware, and the bolt caps. You still need to buy the Promenade II bowl, a wax ring, toilet mounting bolts (floor bolts), a water supply line, and a seat to finish the install.
3) Can I get the Promenade II tank with the trip lever on the left instead of the right?
Yes. Both left-hand and right-hand trip lever versions are offered. Lever side is an ordering choice, not something you swap after the fact, so pick it based on which side of the toilet is clear in the room. Right-hand is the standard configuration for this tank.
4) Is the Promenade II tank 1.28 GPF or 1.0 GPF?
Both flush volumes are available. The 1.28 GPF version carries the ST403E / ST403ER numbers and the 1.0 GPF high-efficiency version is ST403U / ST403UR. If you are matching an existing bowl in a building, use the same GPF the bowl is rated for so the flush performs as designed.
5) What color options does the Promenade II tank come in, and can I match older TOTO fixtures?
Five TOTO colors: Cotton White (#01), Bone (#03), Colonial White (#11), Sedona Beige (#12), and Ebony (#51). Order the tank in the same TOTO color code as the bowl already installed, since the color suffix is what keeps a replacement tank matched across a group of restrooms.
6) Does this TOTO tank meet WaterSense and California water efficiency rules?
Yes. The Promenade II tank is WaterSense labeled and meets California CEC and CALGreen requirements, which is what a spec on a California job or a rebate program will ask for.
7) What size flush valve is in the Promenade II tank?
A 3 inch flush valve. That larger opening is what lets the tank dump water quickly into the bowl for the flush, and it also means replacement flappers and valve seals have to be 3 inch parts, not the older 2 inch type.
8) Can I buy just the tank if the bowl in the unit is still good?
Yes, that's exactly what this is: a tank only, sold with the gasket, tank-to-bowl bolts and bolt caps needed to set it on an existing Promenade II bowl. Cracked lids or a broken tank on an otherwise sound bowl is the usual reason property managers order it this way.
9) How much does the Promenade II toilet tank weigh and how big is it?
About 31.5 lbs, with stated dimensions of 17.75 wide, 14.625 high, and 7.875 in length. Worth knowing on a multi-floor retrofit: it's a one-person carry but an awkward one, and the footprint matters if you're staging a run of tanks in a mechanical room.
10) Does the Promenade II tank need power or batteries?
No power and no battery. It's a fully mechanical gravity tank with a manual chrome trip lever, so there is nothing electrical to rough in and nothing to replace on a maintenance schedule.
