TOTO THU6587#01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the TOTO THU6587#01 deodorizer catalyst assembly actually do in a washlet?
The THU6587#01 is the catalyst element that the washlet's deodorizer fan pulls air through. It neutralizes odor at the bowl during use rather than venting it into the room. When a seat's deodorizer stops working or the odor control fades, the catalyst is usually the consumable that has depleted, and swapping it restores that function without replacing the whole washlet seat. It ships as a two-piece filter set.
2) My TOTO washlet deodorizer smells stale even though the fan runs. Do I need a new seat?
Not necessarily. A fan that still runs while odor control has dropped off points at a spent catalyst, which is a wear item. The THU6587#01 catalyst assembly is sold on its own for exactly that repair, so the fix is a filter swap rather than a new washlet seat. Confirm against your model's parts diagram that THU6587#01 is the catalyst your unit takes.
3) Is the TOTO THU6587#01 a genuine TOTO part or an aftermarket copy?
OEM. The THU6587#01 is TOTO's own replacement catalyst assembly, carrying TOTO's part number rather than an aftermarket equivalent. For facilities standardizing on TOTO washlets, that matters: the catalyst has to seat correctly in the deodorizer housing and pass the fan's airflow, and an OEM part is the one dimensioned for it.
4) Is there more than one version of the TOTO THU6587 catalyst to choose from?
No. The deodorizer catalyst assembly is sold as a single configuration, THU6587#01, with no finish, size, or handing choices to specify. Order the part number and you have the whole assembly, supplied as a two-piece filter set.
