TOTO THP4846 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the TOTO THP4846 replacement part for a Silas pressure balance valve trim?
THP4846 is a TOTO replacement set screw supplied with a hex wrench, used on the Silas pressure balance handle assembly. It is the small fastener that secures the handle to the valve stem, sold as a service part rather than a complete trim kit. If your handle is loose or spinning on the stem, or the original set screw was lost during a trim change, this is the piece that fixes it.
2) Is TOTO THP4846 a whole shower handle or just the screw?
Just the fastener. Despite the Silas handle assembly naming, what ships under THP4846 is the set screw and its hex wrench, not a handle, escutcheon, or valve cartridge. Property managers restocking for a building should order it as a hardware item and keep handles and trim on a separate line.
3) Do I need a separate Allen key to install the TOTO THP4846 set screw?
No separate tool purchase is needed. The THP4846 ships as a set screw with the matching hex wrench included, so the wrench that drives it comes in the package.
4) How do I order the TOTO Silas set screw, and is there more than one version?
There is one orderable version, TOTO part number THP4846. Nothing to specify for handing, finish variation, or size, so a distributor or MRO buyer can order straight off the MPN.
