TOTO THU466#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is TOTO THU466#CP and what does it replace?
THU466#CP is the trip lever handle (the flush handle) for TOTO Promenade toilets. It is the external lever assembly you turn to flush, not the flush valve, flapper, or fill valve. If the Promenade's handle is broken, loose, or corroded but the tank internals still work, this is the part that fixes it.
2) Will the THU466#CP trip lever fit any TOTO toilet, or only the Promenade?
It is specified for the Promenade only. TOTO uses model-specific trip levers (different tank hole locations, lever arm lengths, and thread directions), so ordering by toilet model rather than by look is the way to get a working part. For a Drake, Eco Drake, Ultramax, or Aquia, order the trip lever listed for that model instead.
3) What finish is TOTO THU466#CP?
The #CP suffix in the TOTO part number means polished chrome, so THU466#CP is the chrome version of the Promenade trip lever. If the other trim on the fixture is chrome, this matches; for a brushed nickel or other finish Promenade, order the THU466 in that finish suffix.
4) Do I need any other parts to replace a broken toilet flush handle?
For a handle swap on a Promenade, the THU466#CP lever assembly is the part, and it comes with the mounting nut that secures it through the tank wall. You would only add parts if the chain or flapper is also worn, those are separate items. No tools beyond a pair of pliers and usually no tank removal, the lever mounts from inside the tank through the face.
5) Is a trip lever something a property manager can swap out without a plumber?
Yes. Shut the supply, flush the tank down, unhook the chain from the lever arm, loosen the retaining nut inside the tank (TOTO trip lever nuts are commonly reverse thread, so turn clockwise to loosen), pull the old lever, fit the THU466#CP, and re-hook the chain with a little slack. Ten minute job per fixture on a Promenade.
6) Is this a toilet part or a faucet/bath part?
It is a toilet part. The THU466#CP application is toilet, specifically the flush lever on a Promenade tank. It has nothing to do with a tub drain trip lever or an overflow waste linkage, which is a different product entirely despite the shared name.
