TOTO TCU743CR#03 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the TCU743CR#03 lid fit any TOTO toilet tank?
No. It's cut for the 743S tank and nothing else. TOTO tank lids are model specific, so a lid from a different tank number will not seat correctly. Check the number molded inside your existing tank, and if it isn't 743S, this isn't the lid for it.
2) I manage several buildings with TOTO toilets. Do I need to match the finish code when ordering a replacement lid?
Yes, the finish suffix matters. TCU743CR#03 is the #03 finish version. TOTO uses that trailing code to identify the china color, so a lid ordered in a different suffix will not match the rest of your fixture even though it fits the same tank. Match the suffix on the toilet you are repairing.
3) Does the TOTO replacement lid come with flush valve or trim parts?
It's the lid by itself. No flush valve, fill valve, flapper, trip lever, or tank-to-bowl hardware is part of it. If the repair also involves the flush mechanism or a leaking tank, those pieces have to be ordered separately.
4) Can a plumber install a TOTO tank lid, or does the toilet have to come apart?
No disassembly involved. A tank lid simply sets into place on top of the tank, so replacing a broken one takes seconds and does not require shutting off the supply or pulling the toilet. That makes it a straightforward fix for maintenance staff on an occupied unit.
