1) What exactly comes in the Accentra 8805 pack, and does it include the mortise lock?
The 8805 is a parts pack only: an armor front plus the strike. No mortise lock body, no trim, no cylinder. It is meant to be added to or installed on an Accentra 8800 Series mortise lock, so you order the lock separately if you do not already have one in the door.
2) Will the 8805 armor front and strike fit any mortise lock, or only Accentra 8800 Series?
Only the Accentra 8800 Series. The armor front and strike are cut for that lock case and prep, so don't plan on dropping them onto a mortise lock from another series or brand. If the case in your door isn't an 8800, the front won't line up with the case screw pattern.
3) What finishes can I get the Accentra 8805 armor front and strike in to match my existing door hardware?
Seven finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 612 satin bronze, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome, and 630 satin stainless steel. Match the BHMA number to what is already on your levers and closers, 626 and 630 are the two you will most often find on commercial openings.
4) I manage a building with 8800 mortise locks on the corridor doors. Is an armor front worth adding?
An armor front covers the edge of the lock case where a pry bar or screwdriver goes first, so it is a sensible add on high traffic and tenant-facing doors where tampering and forced entry are the concern.
