Adams Rite 23-0112-130 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What lock does the Adams Rite 23-0112-130 knob fit?
The 23-0112-130 is the replacement knob for the Adams Rite 1880 and MS1880 mechanical lock series. It is the OEM knob trim component, so it goes back onto the existing lock assembly it was built for. If the lock on your door is anything other than an 1880 or MS1880, this is not the knob for it.
2) Do I have to replace the whole MS1880 lock if the knob is worn or broken?
No. The knob trim can be swapped on its own. Replacing just the 23-0112-130 knob restores the lock's operation without pulling and replacing the full MS1880 assembly, which is why maintenance crews keep it on the shelf for high-traffic openings.
3) Is the 23-0112-130 a knob or a lever?
It is a knob, not a lever. If your specification or facility standard calls for lever trim, this part will not satisfy it, and you would be looking at a lever trim assembly instead, such as the Corbin Russwin 483F80 lever and spindle on the ML2000 mortise platform.
4) I want levers instead of knobs across my building. Does the Adams Rite 23-0112-130 come as a lever?
The 23-0112-130 is a knob replacement for the Adams Rite 1880 and MS1880 series, so it keeps the opening on knob trim. For openings you want converted to lever operation, a lever product such as the Corbin Russwin 483F80 outside lever and spindle in the ML2000 Series is the lever-trim option, rated Grade 1 in a Corridor/Dormitory function for a 1-3/4 inch thick door. Note that it is a different lock family, so a building-wide change to levers means changing the lock, not just the trim.
5) Is this Adams Rite knob rated for commercial traffic or is it a residential part?
It is a commercial-grade lock trim part, built for commercial door hardware duty. Adams Rite lists it for office buildings, retail, schools, healthcare, government buildings, industrial and warehouse facilities, and multi-tenant residential properties.
