Adams Rite 23-0512 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the Adams Rite 23-0512 mullion fitting actually do, and which mullion assemblies does it go with?
The 23-0512 is a mullion fitting, the bracket-type hardware piece that ties a removable mullion assembly into the opening. Adams Rite specifies it for the 3889 bottom and 3890 top/bottom mullion configurations, so it is the part you order when you are servicing one of those assemblies rather than replacing the whole mullion.
2) I'm a property manager replacing a broken mullion bracket on a pair of storefront doors. Is the 23-0512 the same part that was originally there?
If the mullion is an Adams Rite 3889 bottom or 3890 top/bottom, yes. The 23-0512 is the OEM fitting built to Adams Rite specifications for those assemblies, so it aligns with the existing mullion hardware and goes back in without modifying the opening. Confirm the mullion model stamped or documented on the assembly before ordering, since the fitting is model-specific.
3) Does ordering the Adams Rite 23-0512 give me a complete mullion, or just the fitting?
Just the fitting. The 23-0512 is a single replacement component within a mullion assembly, not a mullion. If the tube itself is bent or the opening needs a new removable mullion, you need the full 3889 or 3890 assembly rather than this piece.
4) Is the Adams Rite 23-0512 rated for commercial entrance use or is it a residential part?
Commercial. Adams Rite classifies the 23-0512 as a commercial door hardware component, and the applications it is written for are storefront and entrance systems: office buildings, retail storefronts, schools, healthcare, government buildings, multi-tenant properties, and industrial entrances.
5) How many versions of the Adams Rite 23-0512 mullion fitting are there, and do I have to pick a finish or handing?
One. The 23-0512 is sold as a single configuration with no finish, handing, or size choice to specify, so the part number alone is the order.
