Adams Rite 24-0003-01-313-IP – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Adams Rite 24-0003-01-313-IP part, and what does it do?
It's a rod guide cover, a genuine Adams Rite OEM replacement piece that covers and protects the rod guide inside compatible Adams Rite mechanical lock case assemblies. It keeps the rod aligned so the case operates smoothly. It is a component only, not a complete lock case, so you order it when you're repairing an existing assembly rather than replacing the whole unit.
2) Can I just replace the rod guide cover instead of the whole Adams Rite lock case?
That's exactly what this part is for. Adams Rite sells the rod guide cover separately so you can refurbish an existing lock case rather than pull and replace the complete assembly, which cuts the maintenance cost and keeps the rest of the prep untouched. Confirm the cover you're pulling off carries the 24-0003 part family before ordering, since it only fits the Adams Rite cases it was built for.
3) What finish does the Adams Rite 24-0003-01-313-IP rod guide cover come in?
One finish only: 313 Dark Bronze Anodized, applied at the factory. The 313 in the part number is the finish code, so if the surrounding Adams Rite hardware on the door is aluminum or clear anodized, this cover will read darker than the rest of the trim. Matching openings across a building means matching that 313 code.
4) Is this an aftermarket rod guide cover or a real Adams Rite part?
Genuine Adams Rite, sourced from the manufacturer and built to Adams Rite tolerances so it drops into a compatible lock case assembly without modification. For a locksmith or maintenance tech, that matters because a rod guide cover that sits proud or binds will drag on the rod.
5) Is the 24-0003-01-313-IP rod guide cover suitable for a high-traffic commercial door?
Yes. It's rated for commercial use and built for high-use door hardware environments, which is where Adams Rite lock cases typically live: office buildings, schools, healthcare, retail, warehouses, multi-tenant residential and government facilities. It is not a residential-duty part.
